Ryan Coogler’s Sinners Shown Major Love This Awards Season

“Black Panther” director Ryan Coogler and his 2025 film, “Sinners”, has recieved much attention from both viewers and critics. Starring Michael B. Jordan, the film follows twin brothers, Smoke and Stack, returning to their hometown in Mississippi in the 1930s to escape their troubled lives, only to discover that an even greater evil awaits them. Since its release, the film has earned 253 awards and 489 nominations. Here is a breakdown of some of its historic successes.

Box Office

The film was in theatres from April 18, 2025, to July 17, 2025, with a minor return on Oct. 30, 2025, for Halloween. During that time, it made over $368 million at the global box office, becoming a major success for Warner Bros. after a $90 million budget. With this, it ranked 19th overall in the 2025 box office.
